SIP trunk service is part of our PBX system. This enables some unique features to be configured that are not normally available for SIP trunk services.
VoIP Provider specializing in business VoIP. We understand how important it is to our customers to have a rock-solid system. Reliability is more than just a word for VoIPLine.
All our systems are fully redundant, and uptime is constantly monitored.
It’s not about the difference between the two, but how these two services work together. SIP trunking allows you to connect your VoIP compatible onsite phone system to the cloud for outside connectivity. Hosted PBX is a telephony system that operates via the Internet. However, you can interconnect them to use some of the hosted PBX features with SIP trunking, for example, providing an inbound toll-free number or recording calls.
SIP trunking replaces older PSTN and ISDN phone lines and uses the Internet to transmit voice data. Key benefits of SIP Trunking include lower cost, scalability, easy relocation, and the ability to encrypt voice data and enable HD voice codecs for better voice quality.
A SIP channel is like a standard phone line used for incoming or outgoing calls, and a SIP trunk can support multiple SIP channels.
The number of channels supported by SIP Trunk is limited by your Internet connection speed, but most modern broadband connections can support dozens of channels. For example, a 10 Mbps connection could support about 100 simultaneous calls.
If your PBX supports G.729, you only require 0.03 Mbps including overheads. A reliable 8 Mbps connection could support around 260 simultaneous calls, but call quality relies on a stable and reliable internet connection.
Even if your Internet connection goes down, you'll still continue to receive inbound calls by diverting them to a mobile phone or another designated number.
We offer lower rates for larger call volume accounts. For services with a minimum monthly spend, the amount is deducted on the 1st of each month and becomes call credit on your account. There are no extra charges for calls up to the minimum monthly spend; calls over the minimum are charged at the call plan rates.
